Sort of clean house

23 May 2008 In: Daily thoughts |

I’ve had to let my cleaning lady go due to slow business but that means I have to clean . Yuk, I haven’t done that in a long time. I cleaned a bit this morning. Wanted to get some of the dog hair up. Love my Dyson Animal cleaner. It does the job. Love it!!!!

So when are you going to come and visit us?

Not much happening here right now. We are all a little worried about the economy. Ebay has slowed down a bit and we are not sure if this is the bottom or is there more bottom to come. So I’m trying to be careful with money. Being self employed in a frill business is a bit scary. Jewelry will be one of the first things people give up if they have to put gas in their HUGE Suburbans. :) Right,Michele?

Bella is still not right. I think the Doc told Sharon that it could take a few weeks. She puts her head to the side and it unsteady on her feet. Poor baby.

I kept all 6 dogs out in the kennel last night. Usually they are only outside during the day and then late afternoon they come in and get house time. With Bella and Jack here for a few days it is easier just to keep them all in the kennel. They did bark quite bit last night. I hate not having them in the house and I’m sure they want to be here too. It’s just easier to keep 6 German Shepherds  in the kennel than in the house. 4 is hard enough.

Here is the kennel. There are 3 runs on each side. They have a doghouse inside and outside. the building is 10 feet wide and 15 ft long. I have a walking area that is probably about 4 feet. I can open up the doghouses from the inside to feed tham and let them in and out. There is a door on each run so they can be taken in and out that way too.

It’s very nice to have that with big dogs. I can have them out of my hair when I need to and they like it there so I don’t feel guilty.

Wii, Day 3

23 May 2008 In: Uncategorized |

I lost 2 lbs in 3 days doing my WiiFit. I love that thing. It makes working out a lot of fun…

Today my DD has a field trip to Mt. Vernon. She is such the planner and organizer like me. She read the note about 10 times yesterday that the teacher gave them detailing what they needed for today. She made a list of her food wishes for her lunch and reminded us many many times that she needed to be at school on time (which she is every day!) I guess she has picked up on my organizational skills. So, even though her room is often a disaster….I think she may be ok. I worry that she’ll be flighty because sometimes she says “I forgot” when I ask her why something wasn’t done. I think it really is an excuse. She didn’t forget anything, was at school on time and probably having a blast right now. Thankfully we have gorgeous weather today.

Memorial Day - Any big plans? We are visiting my in-laws. That means a day of laundry, cleaning and packing for me. We will get up tomorrow, get the dog to the kennel and take off. I’m looking forward to visiting, but not to the drive. I hate driving on holiday weekends. We’ll probably have to mortgage out house to buy gas for the Surburban too. It’s supposed to be in the 80s in Virginia Beach so I’m sure we’ll have fun in the sun.

We also finally decided, planned and booked our summer vacation (early this year). We are going to Ocean City again, but this time we are staying for a full week. We always try to cram a week’s worth of vacation into 3 or 4 days and I don’t feel rested. I want to spend a few days lounging on the beach pretending I have not a care in the world. I love the beach. When we retire, I really want to live on the beach (but I hate hurricanes..hmmm!)

Til tomorrow…

SpotCrime - Know Your Neighborhood

Very interesting site. Now, my county was not listed there so I couldn’t check my particular neighborhood, but the next county over was and that is only 1 mile from me. I like that you can see what the different crimes are. It uses Google Map and give you the location and what happened. You can include only certain types of crimes if you are looking for something in particular. But I like how you see clusters of crimes. Very interesting just to look at different areas.

We use lots of wipes too…..

22 May 2008 In: Daily thoughts |

We go through those too. Not as fast so I think everyone is using them responsibly. LOL

I’ll have to try to get one of those Wii games. Need to get off the couch.  Here we go again. Do or Blog. LOL

Sharon picked up Bella last night. Bella is still tilting her head which makes her look odd. There is still little movement in the eyeslid but not as bad. She is such a good girl. Anyways, Sharon and her DH have to go out of town for a family reiunion so I’ll have her dogs starting now til Monday some time. I hope Bella does ok. I’ve got her in the puppy kennel so she doesn’t have to do any steps  to go potty.

Here is a picture of Bella. Not the greatest. I think she was kind of wondering what G was doing taking her picture.

We haven’t played with making jewelry this week. Anjie’s DH has not been well but here are a couple of pictures of things we have made.

I shouldn’t say we ,Anjie made them and we watched. I’ll be listing more of them on Ebay.

Toilet paper? nah…it’s wipes….

22 May 2008 In: Daily thoughts |
Yep, I saw them on eBay for $139. I paid $89 for mine. they are HOT! I know why. I tried my Wii out yesterday and this morning and I LOVE IT. I worked out for 30 min this morning doing all sorts of things. Hula Hoop, running, yoga, strength, skiing and tight rope walking. LOL! I like that you unlock more games as you do more. It’s sort of like a little competition against yourself too…always trying to work harder to beat your score. Some of the games you can do with another person. So far just the running. I can run a 2 person race. I feel like I got a pretty good workout.

Toilet paper? we don’t go though so much toilet paper (well not any more than your average 6 person family probably does), but we go through wipes. I think my kids eat them. I give them a package and then a day later, they need more. In reality…I think they are using wipes and not toilet paper so that is why we are not using the toilet paper so much.

American Idol!!! I’m so happy that David Cook won. I really didn’t think he’d win. I was cheering when he won. He deserved it. Not that David A. didn’t deserve it, but I like what Simon said. David C was bar tending and David A was in High School. David A hasn’t struggled yet. LOL! They were both soooo good and they are both going to sell lots of records. Although now David Cook will have to do what American Idol tells him to do. He could sing anything though and it would sound good.

I still have 2 kids sleeping and 2 kids are at school and dh is at work…what should I do with myself? I may scrap a page!

WII

Hey that sound like a lot of fun. I suppose it’s one of those games that the store won’t have in and you have to be first in line or you pay way too much on Ebay?

Spending My Retirement On Toilet Paper

21 May 2008 In: Daily thoughts |

Someone explain to me how we can go through soooo much toilet paper. We have 2 males and 2 females in the house right now. 2 bathrooms. We go through 2 rolls pretty much ever day. One in each bathroom.

One of the worse offenders is my grandson, G. I don’t know how an 8 year old boy can use as much as he does.  And……he is in school all day.

Maybe we have toilet paper ghost , along with our other ghost in the office.

So Little Time………

21 May 2008 In: Daily thoughts |

I just figured out what is wrong with blogs. When you are busy doing stuff you don’t have time to  blog and when you have time to blog then you aren’t doing anything. Somehow I have to get this together. Blog and do. LOL

I think it started last weekend when a friend called and told me how sick her dog is. This dog is from a litter that my Charlotte had 2 years ago. Her dog’s name is Bella. Bella has had issues with limping and fever on and off for a couple of months. Vet thought tick fever. Then Sunday Bella started listing in one direction and would fall, hold her head to the left. It looked like some kind of stroke. Vet sent us to a specialty clinic up in Richmond. Spent almost the whole day up there and we left Bella there. Poor Sharon had a hard time with all of this. I did too but somehow I tried not to think the worse and Sharon couldn’t help herself. She feels better now that she has talked to the Doc.

On Monday one of the docs looked her over and didn’t think it was a stroke but ear infection. So they are treating her for that but we still don’t know what the limping is/was about.

Spent Monday morning trying to get printers to work on our network hosts computer and then tried to install a printer on mine since I couldn’t get into the hosts’ computer. What a morning. Wasted all that time .

I’ve also been trying to get my stuff together to list on Ebay and got that done too and listed some today. Not all but some. I also spent much on Mon and Tues creating a new page for my auctions. Looks good.

Also had discussion about the stew. We are getting together with another couple to market some stew. Hope that  goes well. I will talk more about that as it happens.

Today I thought I would veg a bit but the morning starting out getting the whole house mad. Steph is supposed to close on her house this week, well actually last week, but it’s not going to happen this week either. There are 10 people who have to sign the deed. These are the people who inherited the house. No one has thought to do this sooner??? You think???? Maybe when we put the in the offer. People are sooooo stupid.

See I’m still mad.

Must be my old age but people just don’t surprise me anymore. That is what makes it hard to live with G and Steph. Everything still surprises them and of course Steph doesn’t listen to me , her mother.

My Wii Fit is coming!!

21 May 2008 In: Uncategorized |
and I can’t wait. I’m not a huge gamer. I’ve gotten hooked on The Sims because I can control life and that really appeals to me. But other than that, I don’t really like gaming. I LOVE the Wii. I can actually play golf, not twiddle my thumbs to make the people on the screen play golf. I can actually box. My 12 yr old son always apologizes to me when he knocks me out because it feels so real. I get such a good workout by playing the Wii. We (pun intended) have had hours of family fun with it.

I have been waiting for MONTHS for the WiiFit. I’ve read everything I can about it, watch the Chinese play since it was released there months ago and I pre-ordered my WiiFit on Amazon about a month ago. UPS says my WiiFit is “out for delivery.”

I have already told my kids that the Wii game is MINE today. I get to try it first. Now I’d be playing it all night long, except that the final episode of American Idol is on tonight.

Who is my fave?

David Cook - Music of the Night - American Idol 4/22/08

And that was my favorite performance. I think that David A. will win because he did have a great night last night. But, I will probably not buy his music. I’ll save that for the teeny boppers…I’ll be buying David Cook’s music. He has a beautiful voice. I can’t stand watching David A. sing. At least at the end he wasn’t closing his eyes all the time and I wish he’d sing just one upbeat song. The kid is only 17 and he sings like he’s lost his greatest love.. LOL! :D

til tomorrow….

One of those days….

16 May 2008 In: Daily thoughts |
You ever have days or weeks when you are trying to get something done and you do everything you can and you feel like you are hitting your head against a brick wall? You finally get to a point where you realize that it just isn’t going to happen and you deicde to move on. Then…one small thing happens and suddenly it all falls into place and seems to easy. That was my day, no my week! Sometimes I think it’s just all timing. I can’t give you the details cuz it’s still all hush hush, but I’m really excited about the new project and it’s going to be GREAT!!!! I guess one small hint…it’s scrapbooking related…
